In BCHEF, there is no “voluntold”.
We believe in quality teamwork, and teams only work well when everyone is on the same page. BCHEF members are not required to put in volunteer hours or commit to anything beyond what they actively and joyfully choose.
We are volunteer-based and volunteer-led, and dearly appreciate all of our willing volunteers. They hold the fibers of this organization together! That said, we would never wish anyone to feel overly pressured to volunteer in any of our events or activities. All are free to pick and choose; to participate, to lead, to volunteer, to help, to sit back and watch – whatever works best for each family in their present season.
We believe in unlimited potential.
As home educators, we have the uncommon ability to cherry-pick our children’s education. Our offspring should have every chance to explore and learn in their own individual styles. We know that homeschooling can and should be well-rounded and virtually unlimited. Homeschooling should not mean isolated, undersocialized, or shut-in. We desire a much bigger picture. We want the world to know that homeschoolers can be bold, strong, helpful, kind, eager, and unashamed of their education. We want to engage in our community, reach out to those in need, and make friends everywhere.
If we don’t love the options available to us – we create new ones.
We are not afraid to blaze new trails. The only limits are our own imaginations and initiative. If an opportunity does not yet exist, we seek to bring it into being. We want homeschooling to be bigger, better, and more exciting every year. Homeschoolers don’t need to miss out on great things just because they learn at home. We are history-honoring, forward-thinking, God-loving homeschoolers who want their children to see that there is no obstacle too big, no idea too grand. Your dreams never reach higher than the Almighty can take you.
Although we are a Christian group, Christianity is not a prerequisite for membership.
You must expect our group to be run in a Christ-like manner, and to be based firmly upon Christian principles and law. With this in mind, we do welcome non-Christian memberships. If you are a non-Christian who is interested in membership, please read our BCHEF Guidelines and Membership Agreement for more information on this subject. It is our hope that you will be able to participate in our events and activities while still respecting the very God-oriented basis on which we are founded.
We open events to NON-MEMBERS!
While some of our activities and events are reserved exclusively for members, BCHEF has several seasonal events throughout the year that will be opened to non-members. These events are fantastic opportunities to connect and play with other homeschooling families. We always have an absolute blast with our member and non-member friends alike!
